July… you toasty SOB!

Well, if there was one word to sum up July in the North East.....

HOT

We Recorded SIX - 90 degree or hotter days in the greater Buffalo region this July. In good news, we have much cooler temperatures headed to the NE for the first few weeks of August. Alas the heat, we've made the most of this month!

We spent 10 days up in Alaska, with a week at Reel Action's Kanektok River Camp. 50's never felt so good! We enjoyed swinging for Kings on most days, & targeting a mix of Rainbows, Dolly Varden, Chum and Sockeye Salmon on others. What a smorgasbord of excitement!

A fresh King swung up!

Typical, Tom mowing my lawn and picking them up one after another

For the local fisheries, it's been a Bass, Pike & Carp month.

9', 6 & 7 weights for the Bass and Carp. With 9 or 10 weights for the Pike, fly depending!

Topwater poppers, crayfish patterns and single bufort patterns doing the trick.

 What's next?

We have our open vise night at Buffalo River Grove, Tomorrow!

Thursday, July 31st. 6:30pm

2299 Clinton St, West Seneca, NY 14224

The New England boys in the “valley”

These dates tend to fill up fast. The end of October, and most of November are pretty full, with a few scattered dates available.

We'll go into more details on next month's blog/update on the lake run scene, but it's going to get exciting once the cooler weather hits!
