June report — Hello Summer…
As we slid into June, things still felt like early May conditions. Big Water, big fish, big streamers. I cant quite remember a spring where we had so much water for so long. We were floating levels that were regularly 4x the average for that time of year. We had to deal with some cancelations and move some trips, but overall we couldn’t have asked for things to play out any better with the given conditions.
Scott with an estimated ~ 26'“ brown - one of the largest to enter our boat.
In the past week, we have seen temperatures climb well into the 80s and 90s, depending where you are located & water levels drop back down to end of June averages. We ended our trout trips last week with one hell of a fish. Friend and client Scott Smith stuck a real one while streamer fishing the Delaware system. We saw this fish eat in 2 foot of water and both about sh!t ourselves! By far the heaviest fish i’ve had in my boat, it was a fish where you enjoy a beer and cigar after to try and take in what just happened.
Our hatches have been pretty sporadic with all the high cold water. The East Branch of the Clarion has been releasing a constant supply of cold, clean water. These releases coupled with the constant precipitation kept us fishing ALL June long. A mixed benefit, its kept the hatches down so most of our fishing has come on nymphs and streamers. Now when it’s basically in flood levels and close to blown brown, the streamer fishing has been the ticket. Our local waters have held up great so far. We’ve had some fat and happy fish in our entire region. The start of bug season began with some good Hendricksons, and the Caddis were about to blow before we had to build Noahs ark to fish the remainder of the spring.
Leo with a big Hendrickson eater!

We want to give a huge thanks for all that fished with us so far in 2025, and the companies & business’ that helped us be successful. Adapt and overcome was the name of the game and we made some great memories. I look forward to seeing both old and new faces as we progress through the second half of this year!
Happy 4th of July to everyone!
